Apparently police in Italy have started to pull over people in Ferrari\u2019s – not for speeding – but to check their tax records. \u00a0If their reported income doesn\u2019t match that of someone who can afford a Ferrari – you may find yourself in trouble with the tax police.<\/span><\/div>\n

So far this policy has uncovered over 2,800 luxury car owners whose reported income didn\u2019t seem to merit a Ferrari.<\/span><\/div>\n

Italy\u2019s tax police released a chilling statement on their new policy:\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

“These people are pushed to defraud by the mirage of easy money, to allow themselves the\u00a0luxuries<\/em>\u00a0that they would otherwise not be able to afford<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0— luxuries that are often the first clue [they\u2019re not paying all their taxes].\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

Let\u2019s ignore that this statement implies Italy\u2019s tax policy is aimed at keeping people from enjoying their success, and move right along…<\/span><\/div>\n

In Argentina, all credit card transactions must be reported to their tax agencies. So citizens better not spend more money than their income allows, or they may get a visit.<\/span><\/div>\n

Spain wants to keep tabs on your spending too. \u00a0And that\u2019s why they\u2019ve outlawed cash transactions over 2,500 Euros.<\/span><\/div>\n

The state of Louisiana has already banned the use of cash for garage sales, flea markets, Craigslist postings… or any other method of selling \u201csecondhand\u201d property.<\/span><\/div>\n

According to the law, if you sell used goods more than once a month, you are considered a \u201csecondhand dealer\u201d and are banned from using cash transactions.<\/span><\/div>\n

Instead you must use checks, electronic transfers or money orders – all forms of payment that leave an obvious paper trail.<\/span><\/div>\n
